Travel West Yorkshire
The forum first openned in May 2007 as part of the South Yorkshire Transport Group which operates the South Yorkshire Transport Forum (formerly Travel South Yorkshire).
Travel South Yorkshire had already proved to be successful for transport enthusiasts in South Yorkshire and further afield to discuss all modes of transport in the area.
Over the year, the forum started to grow with more members joining, as a result, it started to get busier with more posts being made.
In July 2008, the forum had undergone major changes with it being retitled West Yorkshire Transport Forum with a new look. The forum was also closed off to public viewing with only members being able to see the message boards. The changes were successful with more new members joining the forum and got much busier as a result.
However, the decision was made for a demerger to take place so West Yorkshire Transport Forum would become seperate from SYT. The forum reverted back to its previous name of Travel West Yorkshire and a new green colour scheme was introduced.
Travel West Yorkshire now covers all modes of transport in the "Leeds City Region" which includes West Yorkshire, Craven, Harrogate, York and Selby.
